An Introduction To Some Popular HTC Sensation XL Tariffs

The HTC Sensation XL is one of the more stylish offerings from the popular Taiwanese manufacturer. It has a number of impressive features, most notably Beats Audio by Dr Dre which makes this the perfect phone for music lovers.

If you would like to get your hands on this device, you can choose from a selection of tariffs provided by various UK networks. As an added bonus, many of these include a free HTC Sensation XL handset and in this article I will look at a couple of offers which include this, and look at how they differ in terms of their allowances and costs.

T-Mobile
One of T-Mobile's best packages is available for £26 per month, and comes with a free HTC Sensation XL handset which is preferable to most than paying the £389 for the SIM free phone. This contract lasts for 24 months, and within each of these you are allotted 300 minutes of free calls, unlimited text messages and 750 MB of data. Based on average smartphone usage, most people should find these allowances more than ample.

Vodafone
One of Vodafone's more attractive tariffs is similar in many ways to the aforementioned T-Mobile one. Like the above tariff, you get a free HTC Sensation XL, unlimited free text messages and 300 free minutes per month. The data is slightly less, at 500 MB per month, however this should not prove to be too much of a problem if you intend to do the majority of your internet browsing over Wi-Fi. In any case, 500 MB is way above the average data usage for consumers in the UK, so unless you are a very frequent user of 3G data, you should be fine with this contract. This also costs a relatively affordable £26 per month and lasts for 24 months after which time you can renew or cancel the contract.

O2
I have looked at some of the more affordable tariffs so far, but if you are willing to spend a bit more every month, then you can enjoy much more generous allowances. This is perfectly demonstrated by the O2 Unlimited plan. As you may have guessed from the name, users are treated to unlimited free calls and text messages to any network at any time. Data is restricted though, with 1 GB provided every month over the network's 3G coverage. 1 GB is actually a huge amount of data, and it is unlikely that anyone would use that much in a month. Regardless of this, Wi-Fi is of course also free and has no restrictions. This tariff will set you back £67 per month (for 24 months) and includes a free HTC Sensation.

As you can see, there are several options available if you want a free HTC Sensation XL. The various tariffs have a each have their own advantages and disadvantages, but provide plenty of choice for potential customers. At PhonesLimited.co.uk we compare all HTC Sensation XL deals on a daily basis, allowing you to find you perfect tariff based on your specific requirements.

A Look At The Convenient Notifications Bar On The HTC Sensation

The HTC Sensation has a notifications bar built into the HTC Sense UI, which allows users to stay on top of notifications and provides easy access to the settings menu. In this article I will look at how to use this feature.

When you are looking at the HTC Sensation home screen, you will notice a small bar at the top of the screen, which displays all the usual info such as signal strength, battery life etc. But if you touch this bar and slide your finger down the screen it will reveal a whole new screen which is the notifications menu.

At the top of this screen, it will display shortcuts to the last five apps which you used, which can be opened directly by tapping the icon of whichever app you want to open. Below these it will display any apps which are currently open and running in the background. This is where you will see apps like Easy Task Killer, should you have it installed, as it runs in the background, preserving battery life by closing apps which are not being used. Below this you will see the main notifications panel. This will display notifications such as new emails, Facebook and Twitter notifications, missed calls and unread messages. This can be beneficial as it saves time because you do not have to open each application to check for notifications, instead providing a convenient overview of a single screen. Simply tap a notification and it will take you straight to the relevant app where you can view it and respond accordingly.

At the bottom of the notifications panel on the HTC Sensation you will see a shortcut to the Quick Settings menu. When you open this, you will be presented with a list of all the connectivity options of the phone, and they can all be turned on and off instantly by checking or un-checking the box next to each option. So for example, you can turn on the Wi-Fi hotspot feature instantly, and the same goes for Wi-Fi, mobile network, Bluetooth and GPS. There is also a shortcut to the 'All Settings' menu below these where you can view and edit the settings of the entire operating system.

When you have finished using the notifications bar, simply slide it back to the top using the touchscreen, where you will once again be back at the home screen.

The notifications bar is a great example of the features of the HTC Sense UI which are aimed at making the user experience as convenient and hassle free as possible. The HTC Sensation is just one of the handsets which includes this feature, and it can be found in many other devices which run HTC Sense such as the Desire HD, Wildfire S and new HTC Sensation XE.

A Closer Look At The Rdio Application For The HTC Sensation XL

The new HTC Sensation XL is a mobile device that boasts superior audio performance to many of its rivals thanks to the incorporation of Beats Audio technology. The handset really does excel when playing music files on the music player feature that is installed on the phone and a number of new applications that enable users to stream music to their device also benefit from this enhanced sound. We take a look at the revamped Rdio application that offers super features in this area.

Rdio has been available for several months now but many users found the interface more complicated than what was on offer with alternative applications. The developers took note of this and completely redesigned the app and the end result is very impressive. The main home page highlights tracks that are currently trending with other users and also a selection of new releases. This immediately gives users a chance to experience songs that they may not have ever heard before rather than opting to find artists and songs that they are familiar with. A number of social networking features have also been added which allow you to create your own profile and list your favourite tracks. You have the option to browse other users profiles and can even add them as a friend if they have similar musical tastes to you. This new version of the application also lets you control music playback directly from the lock screen on the Sensation XL which saves the user time and makes the whole user experience much easier.

The Rdio application for the HTC Sensation XL boasts a huge database of songs that cover all genres of music. Over 12 million individual tracks are available and users can choose whether to simply listen to their track of choice or compile a playlist that incorporates it. If you choose to make a playlist this is automatically available every time you log into the service. Rdio is a subscription based service but for a relatively small monthly outlay you have access to a massive selection of music. Once you have signed up you can even access the service from a PC or laptop so you can download music from the site and edit playlists that you have already created. If you find yourself hooked to the service there are even devices available that let you access the facilities on a television while linked to a home audio centre to give you the ultimate sound experience.

The new Rdio application offers some useful new features that make using the service a real pleasure. A massive selection of music is available and the new social features further enhance the appeal of the application. The HTC Sensation XL is the perfect mobile device to use with this service as the audio performance enables you to enjoy your music in the highest possible quality.

The HTC Sensation XL and the HTC Sensation XE are available now.

The HTC Sensation XL with instant capture camera makes taking photos extremely easy along with the easy to use editing software to provide the perfect photo finish. Additionally, there is plenty of music support along with intuitive features for messaging, social networking and more.

This provides faster and easier access to what you want. The interface as a whole also provides richer clarity and allows you to enjoy a fuller Web experience when browsing, with multi-window support and the ability to jump straight to common sites such as YouTube or Wikipedia. The intuitive home screen also provides a vivid depiction of the current weather where you are through its graphics, while allowing you to fully customise it with ease, changing the shortcuts and widgets to those you want.

The Sensation XL is essentially a larger version of the HTC Sensation XE respectively, offering a bigger 4.7 inch touch screen (to the XE 4.3 inch), while still maintaining an impressively slim and stylish unibody design. Powered y the Android operating system along with the rich experience of the HTC Sense user interface, the handset is capable of achieving multitasking functions with ease, especially supported by a 1.5 gigahertz processor and 768 megabytes of RAM. Storage capacity of music and other media is an impressive 16 gigabytes, again playing to the handset's name. The phone also provides an internal GPS antenna to aid location based services such as Facebook Places, among other location and social networking applications.

Central to this smartphone also however is its music player. This handset offers the impressively powerful Beats Audio system along with custom designed headsets providing excellent sound quality for music and video playback, while videos are also better watched on its large display. The DLNA connectivity along with other connections provide easy means to share on a television or to a computer also. The handset also offers instant photo capture through its 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flash among its other features.

The HCT Sensation XL is a large, yet extremely thin handset offering some fantastically rich hardware supported by great software. The phone provides some of the best features for any user, regardless of which they use most, making it a truly stunning all-round performer.

You may wonder what the difference is between this cell phone and those that don't have the 4G label, including the 'HTC Sensation'. The difference is the network that the phone runs on and the fact that it is a lot more secure and quicker to use as opposed to the 3G network.

For now it is only T-Mobile that uses the 4G network on this particular phone in the United States, but other networks may catch up at some point.

This great looking phone is a joy to use and its modern design that stands out from the rest of the cell phones on the market. Let's take a closer look at the HTC Sensation that is ready to take us into the future:

Height: 4.9 inches

Weight: Just over five ounces

Depth: Just under half an inch

Memory Capacity: 768 Megabytes of RAM which isn't the largest memory capacity you will find, but the HTC Sensation 4G does come with an 8 GB micro SD card and the phone can support up to a massive 32 GB of memory, which more than compensates for the lack of RAM.

Camera: An excellent 8 Mega-pixel rear-facing camera that records video with up to 30 frames per second and comes with an LED flash and HD video recording. The front-facing camera has 0.3 mega pixels and works very nicely.

Operating system: Gingerbread 2.3.3 which can be upgraded to the 2.3.4. The HTC overlay 3.0 is also included.

CPU: 1.2 GHz Dual-Core processor which ensures your commands are processed quickly and lag is minimal.

Display: Gorilla glass is used to protect the 4 inch display that gives us plenty of room to work with while you make use of the 540x960 resolution.

Connectivity: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and an FM stereo receiver, plus a USB port that will help you to transfer your files to and from your HTC Sensation 4G via a PC.

Media Files and Formats: When you want to transfer files to your phone, you can be sure that you can transfer a wide variety of them including: WAV, WMA, MP3, Audio AAC and more.

Available from $549.00 if you buy the HTC Sensation 4G unsubsidized or $199.99 with a two years contract, this phone has to be one of the best Android phones around that will take you steadily into the future while every other phone is left far behind and desperately trying to catch up.

HTC Sensation Contract Deals Launched by Tesco Mobile

The original edition of the HTC Sensation has now been available on the market for over 6 months and has since been joined by two new models in the range; the HTC Sensation XE and XL smart phones.

Since its release the HTC Sensation has had contract deals available from all of the leading mobile phone networks including O2, T-Mobile, Vodafone, Orange and 3 Mobile as well as the virtual network; Talk Mobile and now a seventh operator has finally released pay monthly offers for this popular Android phone.

Tesco Mobile are another virtual operator who use a main network for their signal but offer in-house customer services, although there are a number of contract tariffs supplied by the network they have only currently released one deal today for the HTC Sensation.

They are expected to release the rest of their contract deals for this phone very soon but for now the offer they have available is good value for money and available on the 'Tesco Mobile 750 tariff', this costs £25 line rental per month and provides the phone free in the package.

Also included in this Tesco Mobile deal are 750 minutes of calls which the user can make to any mobile network at any time, 5000 text messages and a generous 500MB of allocated monthly data which the HTC Sensation will make good use of, for heavier internet users this inclusive data can be doubled to a large 1GB allocation per month by simply paying an extra £2.50.

For those that like to watch online videos, download films and large files or stream services such as music and radio the extra 500MB of data could prove to be a real money saver, although the average UK monthly usage of data is currently around 300MB these previously mentioned activities are all heavy on data usage.

If the consumer is simply using their Sensation smart phone for web browsing, checking emails and social networking then the 500MB should be more than enough.

What does the HTC Sensation offer in terms of features?

Even though the phone has been superseded by the new HTC Sensation XE with a faster processor and the HTC Sensation XL with a larger screen this original model still competes with many rival, best-selling smart phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S2 and iPhone 4.

Offering a large 4.3 inch SLCD touch screen with a vivid display, a fast 1.2GHz processor, expandable memory, an 8 mega pixel camera which can record full HD quality 1080p video clips, the latest Android 2.3 operating system with access to the Android Market and the HTC Sense user interface the Sensation is a very desirable, fast and sleek phone.

This latest release on the Tesco Mobile network is the last launch of the phone on UK networks, the phone is also now available on Pay As You Go deals as well as available as a SIM free and unlocked handset with no network locks or branding for those that prefer not to take out contract deals.

If you would like to see the latest HTC Sensation deals or check out the new HTC Sensation XL then please feel free to browse our website: Phones Limited.

HTC Sensation XE Deals on O2

The new HTC Sensation XE has now been released in the UK on the full range of O2 pay monthly contract deals which allow for consumers to order this latest Sensation smart phone from HTC without having to pay any upfront costs.

O2 tariffs start at just £10.50 line rental per month and although the lower charge packages do require an upfront payment for the phone can still work out more cost-effective over their minimum term contract period, however many consumer look for deals that include the phone free of charge and O2 provides this at only £21.50 per month.

This is one of the lowest tariffs currently available from any of the UK network operators that provides a free HTC Sensation XE phone, the tariff is called 'O2 100' and it includes 100 minutes of calls that can be used to call any network at any time.

Also included are 500 text messages for those that like to send SMS to their friends and family and a generous 500MB of data which provides for internet access, email, downloading new applications and updating of many of the phones features.

The HTC Sensation XE is an Android phone which means that it heavily relies on an internet connection for updating things like news, weather and applications, this can be performed either via Wi-Fi or when this is not available via a 3G connection which is why the inclusive data that O2 offers is so important.

The user can also add extra data to their O2 tariff with 'Bolt Ons', these extra packages offer up to 1GB of inclusive internet access every month for an extra £10 fee, this particular tariff already has a 500MB 'Bolt On' included so an extra 500MB would cost just £4 extra.

Aside from the data 'Bolt On' there are also a selection of other services that can also be added to the users account with their HTC Sensation XE, these include extra MMS, 'Data Abroad', Insurance, Calls to Abroad and Calls back to the UK.

Further to this, O2 categorises their customers based on their monthly expenditure and then offers them 'O2 Rewards', this means that they always give anything they offer to new customers to their existing customers as well as letting bigger spend customers upgrade early and receive handset discounts when upgrading.

The HTC Sensation XE is available across a number of the UK networks, these currently include Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone and 3 Mobile as well as now being offered as a Pay As You Go and SIM free phone.

If you are looking for the very latest HTC Sensation XE deals or even the new iPhone 4S deals as they are launched then please feel free to have a look at our website.

HTC Sensation XE Deals Launched on 3 Mobile

The brand new HTC Sensation XE has already been launched on O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone deals in the UK but has now found a new network partner with the dedicated 3G operator; 3 Mobile.

Known for their competitive contract deals, 3 Mobile offers the HTC Sensation XE with more inclusive minutes and text plus data allowance for a smaller monthly line rental charge than any other network and since the launch of their extremely competitive 'One Plan' consumers can now enjoy unlimited data usage known as 'All You Can Eat' by the network.

HTC Sensation XE deals on the 'One Plan' start with line rentals at just £28 per month and 3 Mobile are offering a free Sensation XE on deals costing £30 per month and upwards, this popular tariff choice also includes a substantial 2000 minutes of calls which can be used to call at any time to any network as well as 5000 text messages to use every month.

In comparison with HTC Sensation XE deals from the other networks these 3 Mobile packages offer consumers the best value for money, as an example, for £31 per month on O2 the best tariff includes just 300 minutes and a capped usage of 1GB of internet access, on Vodafone for the same money there are 900 minutes included but only 500MB of data whilst Orange offers 600 minutes with 1GB of data.

If the consumer does connect their new HTC phone to the 'One Plan' on 3 Mobile they will gain an extra 1100 minutes with that unlimited data usage over the next best deal, this tariff also offers some other great additions for the user with free voice mail and an extra 5000 minutes that can be used to called other mobile phones on the network.

The reason that the inclusive unlimited data is so important when buying an HTC Sensation XE is that the majority of the features require internet access in order to perform and update, running the Android operating system also means that there is access to the Android Market where again the user will need to use data to download new applications, games and entertainment.

The features that use the most data of any smart phone are usually some of the most popular activities, these include watching videos either on Facebook or Youtube which quickly uses up any allocated internet access, with this in mind the 3 Mobile deal with 'All You Can Eat' inclusive data is by far the best choice when buying a new HTC Sensation XE.

If you would like to see the very latest HTC Sensation XE deals or take a look at the new HTC Sensation XL deals as they become available, please pop over to our website: Phones Limited.

The special editions like the XE model and the XL model come with some added and varied features.

HTC Sensation XE Lands on O2 Deals

The new HTC Sensation XE has now been released on O2 deals in the UK, this upgraded version of the HTC Sensation packs in the manufacturers latest acquisition; Beats Audio, as well as many more improvements to what was already a very good handset.

HTC Sensation deals on O2 join those previously released on Vodafone and Orange and now offer this brand new Android phone free of charge from just £21.50 line rental per month, in comparison, a free phone will set the consumer back £26 on Orange and Vodafone's cheapest deal for a free phone currently costs £31 per month.

So what do you get for your money?

Firstly the tariff, the £21.50 tariff from O2 includes 100 minutes of calls top use at any time to call any network, 500 text messages and 500MB of internet access to use every month, this is a 24 month contract deal and beats the nearest competing retailer by a whopping £80.

Secondly, the new HTC Sensation XE. A very worthy upgrade to the Sensation which is still selling well in the UK, it boasts a faster dual core processor at an industry leading 1.5GHz and a bigger battery that many will welcome with the power-hungry Android system which is the very latest 2.3.4 version.

The overall dimensions and looks of the phone have changed little from the winning combination of the previous model, however there are some new red accents discretely placed around the exterior of the phone to tell it apart.

This means that the HTC Sensation XE boasts the same, high quality, 8 mega pixel camera supporting full 1080p HD video recording, that large 4.3 inch SLCD touch screen display, a secondary camera on the front of the phone for facilitating video calling and an FM radio with a 3.5mm audio jack to accommodate standard headphones.

The new Beats Audio software further enhances the listening experience via both the headphones and external speakers with a higher quality and deeper sound than many phones currently available.

Also on board is Wi-Fi connectivity along with GPS, Bluetooth and fast 3.5G support for internet access and downloading of new applications from the Android Market which now boasts over 200,000 available.

Further deals are expected to be released for the HTC Sensation XE from T-Mobile and 3 Mobile over the coming days which should make the existing deals even more competitive as the retailer vie for the cheapest deals.

3 Mobile Deals With Unlimited Internet Released for HTC Sensation XL

The latest HTC Sensation phone which features the largest touch screen display released to date by the manufacturer has now been picked up by the UK mobile network 3 Mobile, the new HTC Sensation XL can now be ordered by consumers on the networks coveted 'One Plan' deals which include unlimited internet access.

As an Android powered handset, the Sensation XL relies heavily on connections to the internet to update downloaded applications, retrieve emails, keep services such as news and weather forecasts maintained and facilitate social networking so these new 3 Mobile HTC Sensation XL deals with 'All You Can Eat' data are an ideal match for this high specification smart phone.

One Plan deals for the new HTC Sensation XL start at £35 line rental per month, although a free phone is not currently available at this price it is offered at the next price band up costing £40 per month, however this higher tariff works out to be £120 more expensive over the minimum term 24 month agreement so it is well worth considering paying the upfront price of £79 on the lower tariff.

Both of these 'One Plan' HTC Sensation XL deals include exactly the same volumes of inclusive minutes of calls, text messages and that unlimited data so for the sake of paying a little upfront cost the consumer will save money over the contract period.

So what does the new HTC Sensation XL offer?

As mentioned, this latest Android phone features a large 4.7 inch touch screen display which is the same found on the new HTC Titan although this is a Windows powered device, there is only one other smart phone on the market that can top the size of the screen which is Samsung's new Galaxy Note which measures a staggering 5.3 inches and is closer to being a tablet device rather than a phone.

Powering the Super LCD display of the Sensation XL is a 1.5GHz processor along with a good-sized 1600 mAh battery, although not as fast as the dual core 1.5GHz processor of the new HTC Sensation XE the XL runs smoothly and provides plenty of battery life.

On the back of the phone is an 8 mega pixel camera which matches that of the best-selling Samsung Galaxy S2 and new iPhone 4S and offers HD video capture at 720p as well as a dual LED flash for snapping in poor light.

The unique selling point of this new smart phone is that it features HTC's newly acquired Beats Audio technology which only found in one other handset; the Sensation XE, this new music software further enhances the listeners experience both through the branded earphones that come in the box as well as the phones external speaker system.

This latest release of the HTC Sensation XL on 3 Mobile follows launches just last week on O2, T-Mobile, Vodafone and Orange contract deals leaving just the virtual network; Talk Mobile to pick up this great new phone.

If you would like to see the latest HTC Sensation XE deals or perhaps take a look at the brand new iPhone 4S deals now available then please head over to our website: Phones Limited.
