Simply tapping on any one of these items allows you to browse the compatible content that is stored on it. When we tested the application we were impressed with the sheer number of different file formats that were supported. We encountered no problems in playing back AVI, MP3, WMV and FLAC content.

The AirAV application for the iPhone 4S can also connect to a range of media servers which can store a huge amount of material for distribution around your home. We tapped into our Sony PS3 with no problems at all and the developers quote that almost all servers can be used with this application including Linux and XMBC powered units. So we have established that this new application can connect to just about any piece of equipment connected to a home network but what about the quality of the playback? We found no issues in this area and playing back video files was not only very fast but the quality was superb. Files played back almost instantly and users can select which point of the file they want to start their playback from. The fact that the application does not enable you to compile playlists is a slight disappointment however this can be forgiven thanks to the wealth of files formats available and the quality that is on offer.

The iPhone 4S is a super phone for viewing movie content and the AirAV application enhances this experience. Streaming of content is very simple and the quality rivals what you would expect from a file that was stored directly on the phone.

Great Ways To Recycle Your Old Samsung Phone

While I was looking around for a place where they sell Samsung Galaxy Spica i5700 phones for my teenage son, who at the time just had to have one, I realized the situation with old cell phones and all the related cases, wires and chargers was getting out of hand in my household. I kept finding old cell phones stuffed in closets and drawers, and there was a big box full of obsolete phones, chargers and cases out in the garage gathering dust.

I try to recycle as much as I possibly can, so now I was presented with the problem of where to get rid of all this stuff and it turned out I had a number of choices.

I could pile everything into a box and pay a lot of postage to send them to one of the many companies online who recycle phones. I didn't like that idea though, how did I know they weren't selling the phones to a third world country or taking the best ones and dumping the rest?

I could get credit for the newer phones at Best Buy, but when I used their online calculator that didn't really amount to much, and besides they won't pay anything for some of the really ancient cell phones our family had accumulated. I also read that Best Buy have in store recycling kiosks that not only take old cell phones, but the wires, chargers and old ink and toner cartridges too - and I had a pile of those.

Browsing around online I did find a local charity that was delighted when I offered them some of the newer cell phones and chargers, and they were very willing to take the old cases too. They explained that these old phones were refurbished and set up to be used by the recipients in case they had an emergency. Perfect, they took most of them and the rest I dropped off at the Best Buy kiosk for recycling.

When I found one of the carriers that sell Samsung Galaxy Spica i5700 cell phones, I had my son sign a contract with them himself; he's old enough to be responsible for his own bills now as he's going off to university. When his Samsung arrived in the mail there was a card at the bottom of the box that could be used to send his old phone away for recycling, I wish they'd thought of that years ago.

How To Experience Great Photography With Your Android Phone

Leave the camera's automatic white balance control as it gives great results. However if the colors appear blurred, set the balance to accommodate the ambient light such as daylight, fluorescent or sunset. Remember to reset it to automatic once you are done so that your future photos don't appear weird.

Taking a good snap isn't merely about knowing the right settings, but composing your photos as the pros will ensure that they do not look just like any other photos: by dividing the screen into thirds and pretending there is a tic-tac toe board then placing the subject on one of the lines as opposed to the middle of the screen can make the photo appear professional. A tilted horizon will ruin a nice photo so be sure to keep the camera level and also ensure that nothing is 'cropping out' of the subject's head in the background.

Some android smartphones have shutters that delay after release so know if your model does that. Your android phone may have its shutter release on the touch screen and only when you lift your finger, and not when pressed down will the capture of the shot take place. Whichever way it happens, hold the phone steady and do not jab at the screen as the shake will make the photo blurry.
