The Groundbreaking iDevice Update Known As iOS 5

Apple has never been modest in showcasing its newest innovations whether they be hardware or software. The newest update to their entire line of iPhone, iPod, and iPad devices is known as iOS 5.0. Much like the previous 4.0 release, iOS 5.0 has sent shock waves of creativity and has once again increased the user friendly platform that drives their personal portable computing and communication devices. The following article will go through the updates iOS 5.0 brings to the table and how they will enhance having an iDevice.

The most eye-catching update to this generation of software is the notification center. This new feature is innovative in several ways. Should the user be in an application or browsing the web, the notification center now allows a top of screen notification that does not create interruption to the task which is currently being performed. Secondly, when the phone is locked, the notification prompt can display all items that have occurred since the operator last used the device.

Much like the notification center, the new reminders screen increases the user-friendly nature of the device. Operators can now open this area to create a to-do list of topics; a change from the current calendar bullets that were cumbersome if many were listed on one day. The reminder feature creates a side bar that displays all of the tasks for the day while not minimizing the view of the calendar.

Continuing in line with the last features, the new camera update is a topic which many iPhone users have been blogging about since day 1. The new features allow the user to quickly activate the camera feature while the device is in lock mode. Rather than unlocking, opening, waiting for the camera to load, and then capturing a photo. The new feature allows a click and subsequently allows zoom with the popular pinching motion. The camera may now truly replace a separate portable camera.

Along with the camera updates came updates to the photo platform on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. The new updates allow users to crop, reduce red eye, and rotate their images right in the convenience of the application. This is a major update from previously having to load the image to iPhoto, update it, and re-sync it to the iDevice. Users can now edit and send images via text or email in a fraction of the time.

For those users that were apprehensive about getting an iPhone in the past due to the dislike of its inherent necessity for a personal computer; the wait is over, the device will no longer require a PC for activation. Most users will still like having a PC or Apple computer to keep a backup of their device; however, it is now no longer a necessity.

The last user generated change to the device lines is the ability to sync and update your iDevice with the iCloud interface. This interface allows wireless sync from anywhere. Whether at school or work, the new iCloud feature will update the device should a requested change occur at the users authenticated PC.

It is clear that Apple has once again broken the barrier with their newest update, it seems as if the possibilities are endless.
