Samsung Galaxy Y Gets a White Colour Scheme

Samsung's recent renaming of their entire range of smart phones now categorises each model according to which market it is aimed at, a new 'Y' series handset has just been released aimed at the youth market and has now received a white makeover.

The new white edition of the Samsung Galaxy Y joins the original black edition of the handset and is an Android powered smart phone that is remarkably affordable, leaving their 'Corby' range of feature phones firmly in the background Samsung have replaced these with the new 'Y' range and instead of paying for feature phones these are fully fledged smart phones.

This means that the latest Samsung Galaxy Y offers the same great features found in top of the range handsets such as the Samsung Galaxy S2 and Samsung Galaxy Note thanks to the inclusion of the latest Android 2.3 operating system known as Gingerbread.

This operating software allows access to over half a million new applications, games, content and entertainment services from the ever expanding Android Market which can be downloaded directly to the phones expandable memory via both Wi-Fi and speedy 3.5G data support.

The Samsung Galaxy Y offers a 3.0 inch touch screen for zooming through the multiple home screens, navigating the saved applications and viewing pictures and video clips captured on its 2.0 mega pixel camera, running on a 832MHz processor with its smaller display than higher specification devices means that the phone operates smoothly and applications load and run smoothly.

The new Samsung Galaxy Y white edition has now been released on the O2 network in the UK and has been made available free of charge on every single pay monthly contract deal, these start at just £15.50 per month on a 24 month package with 100 inclusive minutes and 500 text messages but no inclusive internet access.

A better deal for this new white colour scheme of the Galaxy Y is offered at £21.50 line rental per month which includes a free phone and 500MB of inclusive data, also included are 100 minutes of calls and 500 SMS to use every month and there is a selection of free gifts available.

There is growing competition in this entry-level Android phone segment with the likes of the new Huawei Blaze and HTC Explorer recently being released, as the festive season approaches and the demand for Android devices gains momentum it is likely that many parents will be looking to these new, affordable smart phones to fill those Santa wish lists.
